2023: Although I’m an APC member, I don’t support Tinubu – Babachir Lawal

Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Federation, has backed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
On Wednesday, Lawal disclosed to the BBC that he will no longer be supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the 2023 presidential candidate for the APC.
According to the former SGF, the opposition PDP met with Christian leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and agreed to their demands.
He went on to say that the Labour Party tried to get him and other hurt people to work for the party, but they decided to back Atiku and the PDP.
-Advertisement The head of the APC claimed that the ruling party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket would prevent Tinubu from winning the upcoming presidential election.
Lawal claimed that he and others supported Tinubu’s bid to become the APC’s flagbearer, but that they later discovered that he had concealed his decision to select a Muslim running mate.
“I am not for Bola Tinubu now,” he declared.A Muslim-Muslim ticket is not my idea.
“Bola was the one who didn’t want to go with us; he chose where he wanted to go, and we told him that if he ran on a Muslim-Muslim ticket, we wouldn’t vote for him.
“We talked to the PDP (People’s Democratic Party), and they said they would do what we want if we support them, and we said we would support them.

The former SGF insisted that he was still a member of the APC, but he and a few Christain elders in the ruling party would not back Tinubu.
Lawal stated that he was bothered by being called names and insulted for his support of President Muhammadu Buhari in politics.
He stated, “If Buhari leaves politics, I will also leave politics because I joined politics due to him.”
