2023: Confusion in Ebonyi as a court declares the PDP primaries invalid and gives 14 days for a new election.

The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, primary election in Ebonyi State that took place just a few months prior to the general election has been declared null and void by a federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Keep in mind that the PDP elected Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as its gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State in its first primary election on May 28 and 29 of 2022.

On June 4 and 5, 2022, the party also held a second primary election, which resulted in Obinna Ogba becoming its faction’s candidate for governor.

It was discovered that Silas Onu was in charge of the PDP’s first primary, which resulted in Odii running for governor, and that Tochukwu Okorie was in charge of the PDP’s second primary, which resulted in Ogba.

According to DAILY POST, the Presiding Judge, Justice Binta Nyako, has allegedly declared invalid all PDP primary elections held under Silas Onu.

Justice Nyako, on the other hand, gave the People’s Democratic Party, or PDP, fourteen days to hold a new primary election.

Mr. Tochukwu Okorie, the Peoples Democratic Party’s state chairman, confirmed the cancellation of the Party’s primaries when contacted.
