He stated, “It is not the person who has all it takes – age, health, education, and patriotism – that will win the election; I repeat, it is not the person who can make a difference.” I can guarantee that the individual who has made money in this country will be the winner of this election.

The legal icon continued, “The person with the money will win.”

Babalola claims that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s recent endorsement of Labour Party candidate Peter Obi is unrelated to the role that moneybags will play in the election.

Nigeria will only be saved from total collapse if a new constitution is enacted with stringent requirements for political candidates.

Babalola went on to say, “A man should be screened who wants to rule the whole country or any part of the country.” Does he regularly pay his taxes, has he ever contributed to society, and what kind of work did he do? Did he steal there? Was he a good manager?

“You can’t just appear out of nowhere and become president, governor, or house member; These men conduct business transactions.

He stated, “I still stand by my suggestion that any election conducted under the present Constitution of 1999 cannot and will not produce new leaders with new ideas; rather, any election conducted under the 1999 Constitution will merely result in recycling people who have brought Nigeria to grinding poverty, unemployment, underfunded education, and insecurity.” He added that the 1999 Constitution would not produce new leaders with innovative ideas.
