2023: Wike Guarding G-5 governors to political doom – Ohanaeze youths

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the most powerful Igbo cultural organization, has advised Governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to end their relationship with Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike.

Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the group’s National President, said in a statement on Friday that the advice became necessary to avoid regrets.

Okwu stated that by supporting a candidate from a different political party, the two governors of their respective states would be doing themselves a great disservice.

“Governor Ugwuanyi is an asset we will need in the Senate because he has the experience needed to attract federal presence to the State,” he said. However, if Wike entices them to support a different presidential candidate, it may backfire and cost him the nomination. It will be the end of politics.

We are informed that the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded plans to not only expel governors from the party but also to dissolve their State executives.

“This should not be taken for granted because it would completely destabilize them and result in a huge, preventable loss of elections.

The governors should learn from the AD’s experience in 2003, when the party backed PDP President Obasanjo and the AD lost every other position.

Okwu emphasized that “if the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar had chosen him as running mate, we wouldn’t have been hearing ‘Ayu must go'” and reiterated that Governor Wike was engaged in a personal conflict.

“Suffice it to say that Wike is only nursing personal rage and frustration against Atiku,” and “the two South-East governors who are supporting him should seriously consider it.”

In contrast to the other governors who are on the ballot, the governor of Rivers is not running for office and stands to gain nothing. He added, “They should end their relationship with Wike right away.”
