2023:Northern Christians are divided by Peter Obi’s endorsement.

A few conspicuous Northern Christian heads of the All Moderates Congress, APC, have limited any association with the underwriting of the Work Party, LP, official competitor, Peter Obi, by previous Secretary to the Public authority of the League, SGF, Babachir Lawal.
According to the group, which is led by Yakubu Dogara, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, members of the Northern APC never decided to endorse Obi.
The group noted that Lawal made the endorsement of Obi decision.
Lawal had made the announcement a few days ago that the group chose the LP presidential candidate after extensive discussion.
The gathering promised not to help the APC because of its Muslim official ticket.
They lamented the fact that the APC should have chosen a Northern Christian candidate for president rather than a Muslim.
However, the endorsement was rejected in a statement that was jointly signed by Dogara, Simon Achuba, Albert Atiwurcha, Mela Nunge (SAN), Gen. Ishaya Bauka (rtd), Prof. Ibrahim Haruna, and Mrs. Leah Olusiyi.
They claimed that the group had yet to announce its choice of 2023 endorser.
“We would like to bring the recent position that our Chairman, B.D. Lawal, outlined as the position of our group to the general public’s attention.
“We wish to declare that the necessary consultations have been completed, and the group is poised to adopt a position that will be made public at an upcoming interfaith event based on manifestly unassailable empirical data.
“Suffice it to say that no one in the group, not even the chairman, has been obligated to discuss our position with the public at this significant time. Our position was intended to be presented to the general public at the above-mentioned event based on our method. That has not changed, according to the group.
