Ahmed Musa equals Zidane’s record, surpasses Viera, Lampard

Ahmed Musa, captain of the Super Eagles, played in the second leg of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau, making him the most capped Nigerian player.

At the Estadio 24 de Setembro, the Nigerian national team defeated the Guinea-Bissau Djurtus 1-0.

However, Musa, who made his debut for the Eagles in 2010 and was also a member of the team that won the Nations Cup in 2013, earned 108 caps, which is a record for Nigeria.

He now has the same number of caps as France’s midfielder Zinedine Zidane, Germany’s Jurgen Klinsmann, and England’s Tim Cahill.

Additionally, the 30-year-old Super Eagles captain surpassed Frank Lampard’s 106 Three Lions of England caps and Patrick Vieira’s 107 France caps.

The Nigerian forward has scored 16 goals for the national team since making his debut. With four goals, he is Nigeria’s World Cup leading scorer.

Additionally, he has 65 assists and 92 club goals.
