2023: ‘I was interested’ – Kwankwaso breaks silence on working with Peter Obi

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, or NNPP, has made it clear why he was unable to collaborate with Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party, or LP.

Kwankwaso stated that he was interested in collaborating with Obi, but they were unable to come to an agreement on how to form an alliance.

This was made public by the former governor of Kano State in a tweet on Wednesday.

He stated that LP’s media hype was at its height, making it difficult for both parties to reach a compromise.

Kwankwaso insisted that his party enjoys widespread support throughout the nation.

I was initially interested in working with the Labour Party, but we were unable to come to an agreement because they were at the height of media attention at the time.

He wrote in a tweet that “our party (NNPP) is a National Party, and we’re commanding the support of the masses.”

In the past year, it was reported that Kwankwaso and Obi would join forces ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

However, there was no positive outcome to the negotiations between the two parties.
