Another SAN joins Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team ahead of February 16

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has appointed another Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to join the team of lawyers who will defend its leader Nnamdi Kanu in court, Oak Metro reports.

The SAN was among the company of lawyers who visited Kanu in DSS custody on Thursday, said Aloy Ejimakor, the IPOB leader’s special counsel.

“I will unveil his identity in the next few days,” Ejimakor who did not reveal the identity of the senior attorney said.

In Thursday evening’s tweet, the lawyer added that Nnamdi Kanu “greets all his TRUE followers who have remained loyal & faithful.”

Nnamdi Kanu who was “kidnapped” and illegally repatriated to Nigeria for advocating for an independent state known as Biafra, faces 15 amended charges bordering on treason and terrorism to which he had pleaded not guilty.

His trial will resume at the Abuja High Court on February 16, 2022.
