BREAKING: Fulani Herdsmen Places N50m Ransom On Kidnapped Traditional Ruler And Wife

SAHARANEWS – Suspected Fulani herdsmen who kidnapped Enugu monarch, His Royal Highness, Igwe Sunday Orji of Obom-Agbogugu autonomous community, Awgu Local government Area of Enugu State, southeast Nigeria and his wife, have demanded N50 million ransom for their release.



It would be recalled that the traditional ruler of Obom Autonomous Community in Agbogugu was kidnapped with his wife along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway near Ogbaku town about 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 4 to an unknown destination.

SaharaNews gathered that the Enugu monarch and his wife were on their way to the thanksgiving service of a newly ordained Catholic priest in Obinagu community, Agbogugu when they were kidnapped



SaharaNews learnt that the kidnappers made contact with the family and demanded N50 million as a ransom for the release of the Enugu monarch and his wife.

Confirming the incident, Ebere Amaraizu, the Enugu State Police Command Public Public Relations Officer, described the kidnapping of the monarch and wife as unfortunate.



“I can assure you that our men are on top of the situation and Igwe and his wife would soon be rescued unhurt,” the State Police spokesman said.
