BREAKING: IGP Bows To Pressure, Removes Enugu Commissioner Of Police

SAHARANEWS – The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Suleiman Balarabe, has been sacked following the wake of insecurity in the state.

SaharaNews reports that Mr. Balarabe was replaced with Ahmed Abdulrahman as the new CP. Mr. Abdulrahman has since resumed duty as the Police Commissioner in the state.

SaharaNews learned that Balarabe’s sack followed several calls and protests for his removal as Enugu Police Commissioner by pressure groups and individuals.

We had reported that residents in the state took to the streets to protest against him following the killing of one Mrs Regina Mba by hoodlums last week.

Balarabe had been accused of incompetency and highhandedness by several interest groups and individuals, in the wake of insecurity in the Southeastern state.

He was also accused of not effectively complementing the efforts of the Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in checkmating the activities of hoodlums and bandits it the state.

Just yesterday, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) pushed for Balarabe’s removal, saying Enugu was peaceful until his redeployment to the state as Commissioner.
