BREAKING:Chelsea Officially Sign Striker David Datro Fofana From Molde

David Datro Fofana, who has been compared to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and is rumored to be the next Didier Drogba, was signed by Chelsea and Molde, the Norwegian club, on Wednesday.

The club said in a proclamation that the striker will join the club formally on January 1, 2023.

The statement read, “Chelsea FC has reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana.”

On January 1, 2023, the 20-year-old striker will join the Blues. We can’t wait to have David join the club!

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 20-year-old Ivory Coast international has passed a medical and agreed to a long-term contract with the Blues, for which the Blues will pay a transfer fee of €12 million.

In Molde’s 24 league games this season, Fofana scored 15 goals and contributed 3 assists. In all, he has scored 24 goals and contributed 10 assists in 65 games.

David Datro Fofana, who is he?

David Datro Fofana was born on December 22, 2002, in Ouragahio, Ivory Coast. Until he joined Molde FK in February 2021, he lived and played football there.

The most expensive transfer out of the Norwegian league will be Haaland’s €12 million move to Chelsea. In 2019, Haaland moved from Molde to Salzburg for €8 million.

The reason he is compared to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is that they both spent their teenage years scoring for Molde. The Norwegian scored 20 goals and added 6 assists in 50 games for Molde, which is the same as Fofana’s current average of one goal per two games.
