BREAKING:FCTA demolishes Abuja IDP camp over insecurity

The Durumi camp for internally displaced people was demolished on Wednesday by the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

A number of shanties that, according to the government, were hindering security were also demolished.

Shehu Ahmad, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, stated that the IDPs camp was a rail modal and dual carriageway road corridor.

Noticing they were ghettos that should convey double transportation, he bemoaned the takeover of the area by hooligans.

Imagine the level of criminal activity that is taking place here. They do not engage in any serious occupations or activities.

Ahmad stated, “They constitute nuisances not only to the neighborhood but to the whole city.”

He also mentioned that the police would be given to those arrested with hard drugs and other substances during the raid.
