Ekpe Ogbu, the Housing and Urban Development Commissioner for Benue State, has been kidnapped.
Along with one of his in-laws and the driver, Honourable Agbo Ode, he was kidnapped.
They were said to have been kidnapped while traveling from Otukpo to Utonkon in the state’s Ado Local Government Area along David Marks Farm, following Akpa Otobi.
The commissioner was said to have been at a church program on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Otukpo, where Senator Abba Moro, who represents Benue South Senatorial district, dedicated his newly established Campaign Council to God. After the church program, the commissioner went to his village in NDEKMA, Utonkon District of Ado LGA, where he encountered the unfortunate incident at approximately 8:45 p.m.
After being recovered from the scene, his official vehicle was transported to the Divisional Police office in Otukpo.
