BREAKING:Obaseki orders Oshiomhole’s arrest

The alleged involvement of Adams Oshiomhole in a protest that resulted in the destruction of banks and the deaths of at least three people in the state has prompted Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki to order the arrest of his predecessor.

Chris Nehikhare, Obaseki’s Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, made the claim in a statement on Wednesday that Oshimohole, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, had recruited thugs to vandalize banks and disrupt the state’s peace due to the lack of naira.

“We have been around the city all day talking to the protesters, and we discovered that it is more than meets the eye,” read the statement.

“At this point, we call on security agencies to detain Adams Oshiomhole for questioning and to account for his movements, particularly here in Benin City over the past few days,” the statement reads. He purposefully stoked the people’s outrage.

“Even if that is the case, Nigerians should be aware of which political party is involved, because it is ironic that the same party that is responsible for this policy is still sending people to destroy People’s Democratic Party billboards,” she said. “I know people will see the protest as a result of scarcity of naira notes.”
