Census in May 2023: Committee is established by the El-Rufai government.

For the state’s population and housing census in May 2023, the Kaduna Planning and Budget Commission (PBC) and the National Population Commission (NPC) have established media, publicity, and security committees.

Introducing the panels in Kaduna on Thursday, Umma Aboki, PBC magistrate, made sense of that the boards would guarantee a sans hitch statistics.

Ms. Aboki stated that the deputy director of state planning would serve as secretary for the media and publicity committee. She named the commissioner for human services and social development as well as the special adviser to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on media and communication as members of the committee.

They also include the state director of the National Orientation Agency, the zonal manager of the News Agency of Nigeria, the zonal director of the National Television Authority, and the zonal manager of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

The chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and the co-chair of the Open Government Partnership are among others.

Ms. Aboki claims that the committee will be in charge of raising awareness and mobilizing the community for the exercise.

She stated, “The committee will also develop jingles for radio and television, conduct media engagements, and conduct community sensitization and advocacy with relevant community stakeholders for a smooth exercise.”
