Egyptian toyboy, 37, dumped by OAP wife Iris, 83, breaks silence after split

An Egyptian man who married a British woman more than 40 years his senior has broken his silence on their recent split, posting a cryptic message on social media after being seemingly replaced by a cat.

Mohamed Ibrahim, 37, tied the knot with 83-year-old Iris Jones in 2020, prompting a wave of backlash from online critics who doubted that their romance was real.

The former care worker, who hails from Cairo, was first introduced Iris on a Facebook group for atheists and, after hitting it off on the popular social media website, they met in person in 2019. They would go on to marry in a lowkey ceremony in the Egyptian capital in 2020, before enjoying a feast of KFC on their budget-friendly honeymoon and moving into together in the UK.

The unlikely couple split last month, however, after their once blissful relationship turned sour.

Speaking to Closer, Iris said that the marriage had quickly become “hard work” due to the frequency of their bickering.

“We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything,” she revealed, before introducing the public to the new love of her life – her cat.

The retired cleaner welcomed Mr Tibbs, just days after Mohamed moved out of her Somerset home, and has since hailed the precious feline creature as the “perfect companion.”
