Fulani bandits demand cooked food as ransom for kidnapped victims in Kaduna

Fulani bandits operating in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, are danding cooked food as ransom for killed killed victims.

This followed after the closure of markets in the State.

Residents who confirmed the report, said the bandits are making the demands because “they have no place to buy food.”

“Sometimes when they attack our villages, they kill and steal food,” said a resident, Ali Usman.

Babangida ‎ Yaro, a youth leader in one of the villages of Birnin Gwari, told Daily Trust that since the ban on weekly markets and telecoms shut down, bandits operating along Damari, Kutemashi and Kuyello villages only ask for cooked food each time they abduct people.
