‘He was surprising’, Pete Edochie grieves grandson

Kambilichukwu Edochie, Yul Edochie’s first son, passed away yesterday in Lagos.

Two months after Edochie and his wife, Mary Edochie, celebrated Edochie’s 16th birthday, the son passed away.

Pete Edochie told Vanguard yesterday that his son Yul had called him on Wednesday to tell him that Kambilichukwu had fallen while playing football with his schoolmates and had a seizure.

He claims that the deceased was transported in an ambulance to the Mother and Child Hospital in Lagos, where he passed away hours later.

The legendary actor claimed that as soon as Yul called him on the phone about the tragic incident, his family began praying for the child.

Edochie stated, Kambilinachukwu is a quiet child with great talent. He’s not someone you can ride without any problem. He never gets angry, no matter what.

Although he might lose his composure, he was undoubtedly a very unusual individual in many ways.

He had so much success. My son always hears me say that I don’t like people who do well in everything they do. I’ve learned from experience that these people don’t last long.

Edochie expressed regret that his grandson passed away at a time when he was showing great promise.

In the meantime, Yul and his first wife, May, have kept quiet ever since the incident.
