In Adamawa, a man kills his wife over a plan to dump him for a new man.

A 56-year-old man was apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command on Saturday for fatally beating his 38-year-old wife.

According to reports, the deceased Nana Fadimatu was beaten up by the suspect Aminu Abubakar, a resident of Lelewaji, Shagari phase 2 in the Yola South Local Government Area, following a disagreement.

Abubakar had supposedly heard that the departed planned to wed another spouse the following day, an assertion by the representative for the state police order, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said on Sunday.

Incensed by that data, the suspect supposedly hit Fadinatu with a hard item around 10 pm on Friday.

She fell unconscious and was later pronounced dead, according to the police.

The suspect was captured by the police in Shagari Divisional Police Base camp following a report got from the anticipating spouse Mahmud Rufai of Shagari Extension, Yola South Nearby Government Region.

The suspect, a manager at Anasam Table Water at Jambutu 50 Housing, had one child with the deceased after nine years of marriage, according to the investigation so far.

In addition, he urged the general public to notify the police of suspicious individuals in their communities.
