Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To Buhari’s CongratulatoryMessage To Ethiopian PM On Referendu, Says It’s Hypocritical

SAHARANEWS – Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has blasted Nigeria’s President, Mohammadu Buhari regard his congratulatory message to the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

The IPOB leader said the message is a contradiction to his role on IPOB’s call to Referendum.

IPOB had called on the federal government to conduct a referendum to peacefully determine the stands of people of the South East in Nigeria’s coexistence.

Buhari had on Friday in series of tweets delivered a congratulatory message to Abiy Ahmed, the Ethiopian Prime Minister following his emergence as the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.

His part of his tweets reads: I congratulate Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who was today declared winner of the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for his remarkable work to end the 20-year conflict between Ethiopia & Eritrea.”
“This recognition is a good sign for peace processes within countries and across borders in Africa.”

Reacting to the tweets on his handle (@mazinnamdikanu) Saturday, Kanu said the Ahmed’s Peace Prize is due to his efforts to see Eritrea gain its independence through referendum from Ethiopia and a contraction to Buhari’s role not to Heed to IPOB’s call for a referendum.

His tweet reads: “Jubril-Buhari’s CONGRATULATIONS to Ethiopian PM (Ahmed) for winning the #NobelPeacePrize for “his work to end the conflict because Ethiopia & Eritrea” is a CONTRADICTION because a major reason for the Prize was Ahmed’s key ROLE in the #Referendum that SPLIT Eritrea from Ethiopia.”
