PDP crisis: I have no issue with Atiku, Iyorchia Ayu must resign – Wike

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that he has nothing against PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Even though he lost the PDP presidential nomination to Atiku, Wike stated that he has nothing against the former vice president.

On the occasion of his 55th birthday, he addressed a gathering of state chieftains in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

However, the governor emphasized that the PDP crisis can be resolved by the North resigning as National Chairman.

Wike and his G-5 group have been calling for Iyorchia Ayu to be fired as PDP’s National Chairman.

They emphasized that the North cannot produce the party’s presidential candidate and National Chairman.

The Southern region of the country should be zoned for the National Chairman, according to Wike and his group.

Wike, however, stated: I have nothing against our candidate for president. All I’m saying is, what are Rivers residents interested in? What is the South’s and the South’s interest?

Additionally, the governor said that he never regretted running for the party’s presidential nomination.

I’m not sorry I ran for president. I am happy to make Rivers State proud, in the name of God. In my opinion, I am content. I would have won the election if they had allowed it to be as intended. It has occurred.

People said it didn’t matter that I lost the election. I won the election. This is my first attempt to run for president of Nigeria, and we had an impact,” he continued.
