PDP has no right to discipline me for being in Tinubu’s govt – Wike

Despite serving in Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC government, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), affirmed his continued membership in the PDP. He conveyed this stance during his appearance on Wednesday as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, responding to a question about his current affiliation with the opposition party.

“Party is merely a means to an end. I actively supported Tinubu during the elections, and my focus is not on party allegiance. I am here to contribute to President Tinubu’s pursuit of his renewed hope agenda,” expressed Wike.

He continued by emphasizing that he stands by his choice and holds no remorse. He asserted that no PDP member possesses the authority to penalize him for actions contrary to the party’s line.

Wike further suggested that rather than facing discipline from the PDP, he should be the one urging the party to adhere to the rotation agreement stipulated in its constitution.
