Sit-At-Home, attacks in southeast will stop only when Nnamdi Kanu is freed — Mbaka

The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), noting that his release would end the sit-at-homes and attacks in the southeast.

Mbaka, who said this at Adoration Ministry in Enugu on Friday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to heed calls for him to release the IPOB leader.

In a video made during the program, the cleric said:

“I pray God will turn the heart of President Buhari towards Nnamdi Kanu for good.

“And whether we like it or not, as of today, he is the voice that will open, the mouth that will open and say something and the entire Igbo youths will say Amen to it.

“So we shan’t be busy talking about stop sit-at-home, no matter how painful it is. We should be busy talking about the release of Nnamdi Kanu. His release will stop automatically sit-at-home.

“I don’t know why our leaders who should be talking about their son are shying away from that. Somebody said your son is an evil man, should be killed. Will you sign that paper to kill your son?

“I don’t know how they understand my own stand, but I know God understands my position. I am a soul saver, I am a soul winner. The Bible said that a good shepherd will leave 99 and begin to look for one that is lost. One of us is missing…. We must look for him. This is the culture of unity Igbo people are bounded. Forget about the fact or what money is trying to do. We shall divide money, money shall not divide us.

“Political position can not make us to merchandise our children. Because some people want to go to Abuja they are ready to sign anything and disown the youths. God in heaven is watching… As they want to eat our flesh and devour us, the Bible said they will stumble and fall.

“Meanwhile I re-echo it, killing our youths will not bring the solution. There is nobody you will kill his child and he will forgive you…

“Whether we believe it or not, the sun must rise. It is a matter of time. That sun must rise”.

Kanu who was seized in Kenya and illegally repatriated to Nigeria is still held captive in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

He faces charges of treason and other unfounded crimes for calling for a referendum on an independent state of Biafra.
