Tinubu Camp welcomes Adamawa’s defeat and congratulates PDP Governor Fintiri.

After the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, emerged victorious in the Adamawa State governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s “President-elect” Bola Tinubu’s camp celebrated his defeat.

After completing the compilation of the results of the supplementary election held on April 15, the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mohammed Mele, declared Governor Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the governorship poll on Tuesday in Yola, the capital of the state.

The returning officer says that Fintiri got 430,861 votes to beat APC candidate Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani, who came in second with 398,788 votes.

Adamu Garba, the Deputy Director of New Media for the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council, expressed his congratulations to Fintiri in response to the election result.

He said that while the APC fought hard, they “respect the dignity of the constitution” and “obey the law.”

“We have contended energetically, we didn’t abandon our party. We are thoughtful, we can obviously separate between when we win and when we lose. We adhere to the law and treat the constitution with respect.

On his Twitter handle, he wrote, “I congratulate Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on his victory in the last supplementary election.”

Festus Keyamo (SAN), the spokesperson for the Tinubu campaign council, made the following statement in response to Governor Fintiri’s victory: “Anytime the opposition wins, whether on the field or in the courts, it is justice! It is wrong when the ruling party wins, whether on the field or in court! Fakers with twofold guidelines all over the place!”
