Yari donates 15 cows, 500 bags of rice for Igbo, Yoruba Christians in Zamfara for Christmas

The immediate past Governor of Zamfara state, Abdul’Aziz Yari, has donated 500 bags of rice and 15 cows to the Igbo and Yoruba Christian communities in the state to enable them celebrate the forthcoming Christmas with ease, PUNCH reports.

The breakdown of the welfare package indicated that, the Zamfara State Christian Association of Nigeria received 400 bags of rice, 10 cows and N1m; the Igbo community association receives 40 bags of rice and two cows, APC Yoruba wing 20 bags of rice and one cow while the APC Igbo wing got 40 bags of rice and two cows.

Receiving the gifts, the state chairman of CAN, Rev. Iliya Tsiga, on behalf of the other Christian communities, commended Yari for the gesture, adding that he lacked words to thank him.

The Zamfara State chapter of the APC loyal to Yari also lauded his efforts in making the people happy in all seasons despite the fact that he has been out of office for about three years.

The factional APC Chairman, Lawal Kaura, while presenting this year’s Christmas assistance to the beneficiaries, said Yari and other major stakeholders of the party in the state had kept the flag flying.

The chairman stressed that at the commencement of each year’s Ramadan and Sallah celebrations, packages of assorted grains, clothes, cows and rams were provided to residents of Zamfara in all the 2,516 polling units.
