Assailants lynch man in Abia community over alleged land dispute

Assailants from Umu-Ulu lynched a native of Obohia Ndoki in Ukwa-East LGA of Abia State on Wednesday, leaving him on the verge of death.

Reports say he was lynched in the bush by the assailants over an alleged land dispute between the two towns.

The source who confirmed the incident to Ndoki Post revealed that the assailants were led by Hyacinth Iheanacho, the councilor representing Mbam-Abuo autonomous community.

“As I’m talking to you this young man is lying helplessly in hospital bed no one know if he will survive or not this is what is happening in our community,” said Hinette Gold, who also confirmed the incident.

According to Gold, the land dispute has claimed the lives of many people in the community.

“They move around with dangerous weapon chasing people out from the bush and farm,” she said.

Meanwhile, another resident of the community, Christian Uche, said the assailants had previously attacked some community residents, leaving them injured.
