ASUU excuses varsities’ resumption request, says strike unshakeable

The Scholarly Staff Association of Colleges on Monday excused resumption sees by college specialists guiding understudies to show up for addresses in the midst of the seven-month strike.

The association said its strike stayed unshakeable as those organizations were still carefully guarded.

The VP of ASUU and its previous branch director at the College of Jos, Dr. Chris Piwuna, expressed these in a meeting with The PUNCH.

He was responding to the declaration by Advertising Official of Imo State College, Owerri, Ralph Njoku, that it had pulled out of the ASUU cross country strike and thus asked its understudies and staff individuals to continue school on Tuesday, September 20.

As per him, IMSU had chosen to haul out of the waiting strike in light of a legitimate concern for the understudies and staff of the foundation.

“Indeed. It is valid. We have requested that understudies continue right away. Addresses start on Tuesday. We are doing this to the greatest advantage of our understudies and staff. We are pulling out of the ASUU strike as well as requesting that everybody return to school,” he said.

Be that as it may, Piwuna taunted the Colleges saying ASUU would stay unshaken.

He said, “I don’t have the foggiest idea why these individuals won’t ever gain proficiency with their example. Is the Expert of the College an individual from our association? Does he have the command to represent our individuals? Did we talk with him or his VC (Bad habit Chancellor) before we set out on the activity? They are hopeless intruders.

“Allow us to hear from our branch administrator. Let them not burn through the hour of our understudies and guardians.

“They said exactly the same thing regarding Gombe State College, Yobe State College, Kaduna State College and the rest. Those foundations are still safely secured. Our strike is unshakeable .

“Our individuals stay strong and resolute about our general objective to protect our state funded colleges from the grip of the neo-liberal, neo-colonialist.”
