Following attempts by those who rigged the 2023 presidential election to repeat themselves in the North East state, the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate has sent a well-worded message of congratulations to the newly elected Governor of Adamawa state.
“Congratulations, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, on your deserved reelection as governor of Adamawa State,” H.E. Atiku wrote in a post on his Facebook page. We are grateful to Adamawa’s people as well as people of good will for continuing to resist dictators and opponents of democracy. This exercise and others have shown Nigerians that they need to be vigilant and never give in to anti-democratic forces whose goal is to snatch, run with, and undermine the mandate of the people as freely expressed in their votes. This is a lesson that Nigerians should take away from these exercises and others. Moreover, it is not yet uhuru because we still have one major mandate to reclaim, which we will accomplish as a united front for the benefit of our nation and its people. -AA”
