Atiku will rely On Appeal court ruling and Free Nnamdi Kanu If Elected President–PDP

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate and former vice president who ran in the February election, said yesterday that if he becomes Nigeria’s leader, he will give the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, unconditional release.

Since being intercepted and “rendered” to Nigeria from Kenya by the federal government in June 2021, Kanu has been held in the Department of State Services (DSS) detention facility.

Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the Atiku/Okowa campaign in Anambra State, stated that the PDP candidate will rely on the Appeal Court’s decision to free the Biafra agitator, confirming Atiku’s strategy.

Okonkwo claims that the appellate court made it clear that Kanu should be set free and that no court can ever try him again for the alleged crime.

The head of the PDP also said that one of Atiku’s most important programs would be to “instill permanent peace” in parts of the country, especially in the south-east.

He stated that Atiku would ensure the dissipation of regional tension and the release of all detained South-east agitators in order to accomplish this.

Because he is aware that the PDP candidate has the region’s best interests in mind, he urged the zone’s residents to back him in order to win the poll on February 25.

“I am stating this with every ounce of responsibility that Atiku will unconditionally release Nnamdi Kanu.” That is on Atiku’s list of priorities for maintaining peace in the Southeast. He will also use political means to free the genuine IPOB agitators who are being held without trial.

“The government of Atiku will hold serious talks with the group and others with the intention of regaining their faith in the nation and including them in the effort to improve Nigeria. However, decisive action will be taken against the criminal elements.

He stated, “What we are now saying is that for this to happen, peace must reign for the election in the South-East, and the South Easterners must fall behind the PDP.”

He noted that Atiku is the only candidate with a plan to address the situation in the Southeast for the benefit of the region and the country as a whole with this strategy.

Atiku, on the other hand, said yesterday that Bola Tinubu, Atiku’s All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, had started out as a comic relief but was now slowly turning into a tragedy and an embarrassment for Nigeria.

Atiku noted in a statement that was signed by Phrank Shaibu, his Special Assistant for Public Communication, that Tinubu had made more than 20 public errors since he announced his intention to run.

He stated that these errors, which have provided online skit makers with humorous material, are now a tragic embarrassment to a nation in desperate need of salvation.

The statement was made in the context of Tinubu’s speech at a rally in Akwa Ibom State, in which he claimed that he made Atiku the Senate President. However, Atiku stated that it is public record that he has never run for legislative office.

I dare to assert that, in addition to his dubious records and background, Tinubu’s incessant errors are the result of his deteriorating health. His deteriorating mental faculties pose an obvious and immediate threat to national security. A man who lacks clear mental control cannot lead a country.

“However, this would not be the first time the so-called godfather of Lagos would demonstrate his ignorance to the nation. He stated a few months ago that he intended to recruit 50 million young people into the Nigerian Army to combat unemployment. Sadly, rather than correcting him at the event in Kano, those in his circle gave him a standing ovation.

“Then, he urged Nigerians to go get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) renewed because they would run out prior to the election. After Tinubu’s speech began to panic the public, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had to issue a statement immediately.

Atiku stated, “Tinubu at his Lagos rally asked Nigerians to get their APV in order to vote for APC.” However, even elementary school students are aware that the PVC (Permanent Voter Card) is the only document that allows a voter to enter a polling unit.

The statement said that Tinubu’s gaffes should not be overlooked because he is running for the highest office in the land—the “Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic (GCFR)”—and that if he were, they would have been appropriately classified as jokes.

“Imagine Bola Tinubu representing Nigeria at the United Nations General Assembly with a demeanor that is comparable to that of the comedian Klint da Drunk. Imagine that he makes such errors during meetings with world leaders. Nigeria would become the laughing stock of the entire world.

Nigerians should be aware that the Bola Tinubu of today is distinct from the Bola Tinubu of 1999 to 2007. Atiku stated, “The Bola Tinubu of today lacks the ability to lead a nation of 200 million people, the majority of whom live in abject poverty.”

He argued that the issue wasn’t really about Tinubu’s age because many world leaders are also older. Instead, it was about his demeanor, his words, and his mistakes.

These are issues that cannot be ignored any longer. Tinubu and his allies have been claiming, in an effort to deceive the electorate, that what Tinubu lacks in physical strength, he makes up for in intelligence, as the presidency of Nigeria is not wrestling but brainwork.

Sadly, however, Tinubu’s numerous embarrassing remarks suggest that his mental capacity is actually greater than his physical strength. Sabinus, a comedian, based his entire Christmas performance on Tinubu’s numerous errors. The assembled audience was close to falling to the ground.

This might appear to be funny on the surface, but when you consider that Tinubu is the candidate of the ruling party, it becomes even more tragic. The statement continued, “Tinubu’s handlers are aware of his declining mental capacity and have refused to allow him to participate in debates or live interviews.”

It was reported that Tinubu’s handlers, who are currently acting like a cabal, believe that if he enters Aso Rock, he will receive the best medical care and will delegate important state functions to them.

Additionally, Tinubu has been relying on his surrogates to address important discussions because of this. Tinubu preferred to conceal under the pretext that he “believes in working with an unbreakable team,” which prevented him from answering the questions posed to him even at Chatham House in London.

This is amusing because he has driven Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola out of his camp due to his tendency toward dictatorship.

However, it should be noted that Aso Rock is not a mental hospital or sanatorium. According to Atiku, “to that extent, Nigerians have a right to demand that any candidate for that office be in the best state of health.”

He maintained that Tinubu does not support teamwork and is concealing his weaknesses and mental incapacity. He also emphasized that Nigerians should not allow themselves to be deceived by a person who is unable to debate a straightforward economic policy without pleading with his handlers for help.
