Attacked communities in Benue, Kaduna, others being renamed by Fulani — REPORT

Communities sacked by terrorists in northern Nigeria and parts of the middle belt are being renamed to Fulani names, a report said on Saturday.

According to the report by Emma Powerful, spokesperson for the Indigenous People of Biafra, the States where the sacked communities are renamed are in southern Kaduna, Plateau, Benue and Taraba.

OAK METRO reports that Emma Powerful revealed this while berating General Ibrahim Bata Malgwi Haruna, a former Information Minister, who admonished the federal government of Nigeria not to release Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the IPOB.

In the statement, IPOB, said some northern elites are “applauding the release of real terrorists and mass murderers under the guise of repentant terrorists” but are opposing to the release of Nnamdi Kanu and others demanding a referendum on an independent state known as Biafra.

“Any man advocating the persecution of a freedom fighter but keeps mum when real terrorists and mass murderers are freed and compensated is worse than a terrorist. All those who advocate amnesty for Fulani bandits and terrorists but want Nnamdi Kanu and other self determination agitators crucified are evil and the real enemies of Nigeria and they destroy the country so quick and IPOB is joining them to destroy the country because we are not one,” said IPOB.

The separatist group added that “Nnamdi Kanu has not commited any crime. He is only agitating for self determination and calling for Referendum. These Fulani ethnic bigots calling for his head are only bitter because Kanu, IPOB and ESN prevented them from taking over Igbo land as they have done to other tribes. Igbo land and Biafran cannot be subjugated by Fulani no matter how hard they try.”

In June 2018, Vanguard recounted how Fulani herdsmen ransacked and renamed communities in Plateau, saying that the invaders occupied the communities renamed.
