In the midst of rising strain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over requires his abdication, the National Chairman, Iyiochia Ayu yesterday promised not to stop.
Since the appointment of previous VP, Abubakar Atiku, there have been escalated moves by a few wronged individuals from the party for Ayu’s substitution by an up-and-comer from the South.
They contended that the party’s banner conveyor for the 2023 official survey and the public executive can’t emerge out of the equivalent geo-political zone. They need Ayu supplanted by an up-and-comer from the south with the end goal of value and political condition balance.
Ayu’s renunciation has been a significant condition in the plan of allies of Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, who have kept on contradicting Atiku’s candidature after the previous president neglected to pick him as running mate. Wike came next during the party’s official essential.
In any case, in an unexpected reaction yesterday, Ayu obtusely set out to settle theories about his destiny when in a tweet, he pronounced that he won’t leave. Apparantly, he was responding to a report that said he has surrendered to pressure and presented his letter of renunciation.
The tweet gave by his Media Aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam yesterday read: “The PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyiochia Ayu, has not surrendered and has no arrangement of leaving. For clearness and accentuation, he was chosen for a residency of four years.”
The assertion read to a limited extent: “We state, with all accentuation, that this story is, completely, misleading, unmerited, careless, off base, and a total work of fiction. On the off chance that Dr. Ayu had surrendered, he would give his renunciation letter to the Deputy Chairman (North); not Senator Mark. Area 45 (I and ii) of the party’s constitution is sure about this.
“All in all, where does Distinguished Senator David Mark come in here, being that he isn’t so much as an individual from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC)? Apparently the people who have been acquired to coerce the public executive out of office are not even mindful of what the party’s constitution says regarding the matter…
“The public director is on an essential task: to lead the PDP on a memorable salvage mission, Come February 2023. Also, he won’t be stopped or occupied by … political coercion. We rehash, hence, that the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has not surrendered and has no arrangement of leaving. For clearness and accentuation, he was chosen for a residency of four years.
