According to Barca Blaugranes, representatives of Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly met with Lionel Messi’s father in secret and plan to give the World Cup winner a proper farewell from the club.
In the summer of 2021, Messi moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Camp Nou, but he was not honored at the club where he spent most of his career.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is pushing for a move ahead of the expiration of his current PSG contract, which runs out in the summer.

It would appear that the meetings were held with the intention of discussing Messi’s return to Barcelona; the question of whether he will rekindle is still up for debate.
After Lionel’s brother Matias publicly criticized the club for being a “small club” prior to Messi joining, another reason for the meeting was to improve ties between the Messi family and the club.
The 35-year-old reportedly will be let go before the 2024/25 season in conjunction with Barcelona’s 125th anniversary if he does not return to the Spanish team as a player.
The move, which could rekindle the “GOAT” rivalry between Lionel and Cristiano Ronaldo, has been rumored to be in the works for Arabian side Al Halal SFC as well as MLS side Inter Miami.
He has been an important part of the Parisians’ success this season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in Ligue 1, including the game-winning goal against LOSC Lille in their most recent league game.
