BREAKING: 3 Dead as gunmen attack Awada police station in Anambra

Awada Police Station, near Obosi in the state’s Idemili North Local Government Area, has once again been attacked by daring gunmen.

It was said that the attack occurred around 2.18 a.m.

It was learned that the criminals entered the police station in the early hours of Monday and engaged the on-duty officers.

It was reported that the gun battle resulted in the deaths of three of the criminals.

In less than 24 hours, the 3-3 Police Division office in Oyi LGA, Nkwelle Ezunaka, was attacked, resulting in the deaths of six people.

Vanguard was informed by a local source that the criminals began intermittently firing as they approached the police station and that the shots continued for several hours.

According to a Vanguard source, “The crooks made another deadly attempt to burn down Awada Police Station, near Obosi, in Anambra State, in the early hours of today.”

“Three of the crooks were killed in a heated gunfight as the criminals were repelled by brave security personnel. Along with the vehicles that the gang used for the operation, two AK-47s were recovered.

As he did not answer calls or text messages sent to his phone, the police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, could not be reached for comment.
