BREAKING: 4 Dead, Scores Sustained Different Degrees Of Injuries At APC Presidential rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers state

SAHARANEWS – Four persons on Tuesday, February 12, reportedly lost their lives at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.



According to reports , scores of persons sustained various degrees of injuries and have been evacuated to hospital for treatment, our correspondent learnt.

A witness account said that the victims were trapped at the exit gate of Adoki Amasiemeka Stardium as they tried to walk out of the stadium.



In a related development, reports emerging from the presidential rally of the Democratic Party (PDP) from the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos claimed that a set of hoodlums made moves to trigger violence.

There was reportedly an uproar among some youths who were throwing objects and chairs at themselves close to where PDP chieftains were seated.



While it was not known what led to the mayhem, supporters of the party who came for the rally fled the venue as security officials intervened to save the situation from degenerating.

Another report hinted that it all started when PDP flags were being presented to candidates for National Assembly positions.

Commenting on the development, the MC of the event said: “I can see some people are here to foment trouble. Those who have come here to disturb this place will be treated as criminals.”

Meannwhile, the APC alleged that Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state was responsible for sponsoring thugs to throw objects at President Muhammadu Buhari and other party chieftains at its campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun state.



According to a statement made available to Legit.ng, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC’s spokesman, stated that the state governor will be punished after the general elections.

Moreover, the ruling party, contrary to President Buhari’s position, asked its supporters in the state to vote for its candidate during the governorship poll on Saturday, March 2.
