BREAKING: DSS Hands Off Sowore’s Case, Faces High Profile Investigation On Court Inversion

SAHARANEWS – The Department of State Services (DSS) has handed over the case of RevolutionNow protest convener, Omoyele Sowore, to the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.



Mr Malami’s Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Umar Gwandu, announced this in a statement made available to SaharaNews on friday

The statement said Mr Malami, through the Solicitor-General of the Federation, Dayo Apata, sent a letter on December 11 to the Director-General of DSS, Yusuf Bichi, directing the security agency to “promptly forward all the case files” to the AGF office.

The said letter was a response to a September 9 letter sent to the AGF.

The DSS had last Friday invaded the Federal High Court, Abuja to rearrest Sowore who was released the previous night.



“The Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice upon a further review of the case has directed the immediate takeover of the prosecution of all charges in respect of Omoyole Sowore by the Federal Ministry of Justice, in line with the provisions of Sections 150(1) and 174 (1) (a-c) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended),” Apata’s letter was quoted saying.

Malami had said on Wednesday that the Federal Government was investigating the incident.
