At the Ndiegoro Police Station in Aba, Abia State, an alleged member of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) has been accused of killing a police inspector.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. in the Ohanku Road, Aba’s Iheorji junction.
During the subsequent gunfight, two of the attackers were stopped by the police.
NAN reported that SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, had confirmed the incident.
According to Ogbonna, ESN/IPOB members attacked some Ndiegoro Police Station officers while they were on patrol around Iheorji.
“One of the Policemen paid the ultimate price in a gun battle, while two of the Gunmen were defeated.
He stated, “They also collected his Police AK-47 riffle as they shot the policeman.”
