Two police officers were killed on the morning of Saturday, December 4, after Al Shabaab militia opened fire on them in Bambo area of Mandera County.
A report by Counter Terrorism and National Security Intelligence indicated that the officers were attacked while delivering foodstuffs to a nearby camp.
Initially, the officers, who were travelling in a lorry belonging to the National Police Service, had dodged a grenade attack from the militia when the suspected Al Shabaab militants opened fire.
