A 90-year-old man and two other people were reportedly killed by bandits during a nighttime raid on Friday in Gombe State. Gombe Police Commissioner Mr. Oqua Etim confirmed the attack, saying that the 90-year-old man and two other people were killed in the attack, and three other people with serious injuries were taken to the hospital for treatment.
He claimed the elderly man was asleep when the thieves set fire to his hut. During the attacks, numerous homes and food stores were reportedly set on fire.
He advised residents to separate politics from criminal activity and warned them against putting lives at risk for political gain.
He testified that political activities are proceeding without incident, but that criminal activity is an ongoing process in every society, and that the command is doing everything it can to combat all forms of criminal activity in the state.
