Erekaa Naomi Dooshima, a 300-level student at Benue State University (BSU), was reported missing for a few days before her body was discovered.
The Benue activist Ukan Kurugh raised concerns regarding the student’s whereabouts on Tuesday.
Kurugh claimed that her identity card, phone, and blood-stained clothing had been discovered in Markudi, the state capital, in a post on his verified Facebook page.
“Missing individual: A girl by the name of Erekaa Naomi Dooshima, whose Facebook user name is “Affection Erikz,” is missing; her clothes are blood-stained, and her phone and identity card were discovered in the vicinity of the Rahama clinic, which is located opposite the medical school Makurdi. He wrote, “She is a mass communication 300-level student at Benue State University.”

The activist stated in a subsequent post that the student had been found dead.
Kurugh stated that police exhumed the lady’s body after it was discovered in a fenced-off area in Markudi.
“The corpse of this young lady by the name of Erekaa Naomi Dooshima I made a post about her missing yesterday has been found in a fenced land behind Bolek Filling State after medical school and is currently being exhumed by men of the Nigeria Police Force Makurdi Benue state,” he added. “I made a post about her missing yesterday.”
The state police representative, Sewuese Anene affirmed the turn of events.
However, Anene stated that an investigation is ongoing to obtain additional information regarding the incident.
“Yes, we found the body of a woman yesterday (Wednesday). But I don’t know much about her right now,” she said.
