BREAKING:Court Sacks Ebonyi NPC Co-operative Society Executives, Orders Fresh Election

A High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Capital, has requested Mrs Nwakaego Chinyere Nwachukwu, Mr Okpala M. Okechukwu, Mrs Priscilla Amos Onyebuchi and Mrs Amaka Agwu Oswald to empty their situations as President, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Secretary, separately, of the National Population Commission (NPC) Abakaliki Staff Multi-reason Co-usable Society Ltd, as per the bye-regulations and guidelines administering the Co-employable.

The request was spin-off of a suit no. HAB/9/2022 recorded by Elder Omoke Nweze Njoku, testing the proceeded with propagation in office of the second, third, fourth and fifth Defendants, after their residencies slipped by.

In the suit, Mr Njoku had implored the court to arrange the second to fifth Defendants to empty their workplaces, having served out their residencies, in accordance with the Bye-regulations and Regulations overseeing the Co-usable.
Njoku similarly requested that the court request the second to fifth Defendants to represent their stewardship since suspicion of office.

The Plaintiff likewise implored the Court to pronounce that the end of his participation of the Co-usable vide a voice vote with no legitimate reasons was unlawful, invalid and void and of no lawful impact at all as it insults the significant arrangements of segment 26(3) of the Nigeria Co-employable Societies Decree No. 90 and Regulations 1993 (Subsidiary Legislation) and condition 8(a) to (b) of the first Defendant’s bye-regulation.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Benson Ogbu, in his decision, proclaimed as unlawful, invalid and void the proceeded with propagation in office of the President, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Secretary of the Co-employable and requested them to empty their workplaces, forthwith.

Equity Ogbu likewise proclaimed that the end of the Plaintiff’s enrollment of the Co-employable by the second to fifth Defendants vide a voice vote with no legitimate reasons was unlawful, invalid, void and of no lawful impact at all.

“A request for this Honorable Court permitting the Plaintiff as a genuine individual from the first Defendant to be engaged with every one of the exercises of the first Defendant including it’s gathering, the Plaintiff having committed no offense that will warrant the end of his participation.

“The first Defendant is thus requested to direct forward with, a political race for the appointment of new Executives of the first Defendant”, the Court dominated.

The Court granted the amount of N50,000.00 (50,000 naira in particular) as cost against the Defendants.
