BREAKING:FCT bans POS operators from residential areas

Point of Sale (POS) owners have been instructed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to limit their operations to commercial areas.

On Wednesday, Umar Shuaibu, the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), issued the directive.

The administration, according to Shuaibu, would not permit operators to illegally take control of sensitive areas.

The official said that their random actions were becoming a threat to security in the capital of the country.

He explained that the neighborhood concept, which brings services closer to people, was incorporated into the Abuja Master Plan.

According to Shuaibu, business centers, plazas, markets, supermarkets, and gas stations should have POS operators.

The head of AMAC advised the operators to communicate with the property owners in order to conduct business there.

All operators are now required to relocate to commercial areas. This will assist with checkmate insecurity,” he added.
