BREAKING:Ganduje signs PWDs bill into law

Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano State, has approved the Kano Persons With Disabilities Bill 2022, which the House of Assembly recently approved.
On Tuesday, the weekly State Executive Council meeting that took place at the Government House in Kano saw the bill become law.
Ganduje explained, shortly after signing the bill into law, that it would enable the state’s inclusion and development of people with disabilities.
He said that the law said that a ministry would be set up to oversee the affairs of PWDs and that all six groups of disabilities would be represented in the ministry’s management.
The governor insisted that the ministry would receive all the support it required to operate in accordance with international standards once it was established.
He stated that some disabled individuals were selected for entrepreneurial training at the Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre, Kano, to help them become self-sufficient and reduce unemployment.
