BREAKING::Over 800 Boko Haram arrested near Lake Chad — Gen Khalifa Ibrahi

Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim, Commander of the Joint Multinational Task Force, has provided details on how his troops used drones to track down and capture more than 800 Boko Haram members as they fled near the Niger-Nigeria border in the Lake Chad region.

General Khalifa Ibrahim stated in an interview with the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA), which our correspondent monitored, that the suspected insurgents were fleeing Sambisa for a variety of reasons, including the fear of constant superior firepower from JMT personnel.

Commenting on the reasons for the Boko Haram elements’ migration to Lake Chad-area regions, Gen. According to Khalifa Ibrahim, some of them fled as a result of internal conflict.
