BREAKING:Serious Tension in Zamfara as bandits declare curfew except ₦60m peace levy is paid.

Aliyu Buhari, a resident of Moriki, one of the communities in the local council, said that the bandits had demanded payment of the levy before residents could access their farmlands through their freed captives.
According to Buhari, residents of Moriki are currently working on raising the levy, adding that some communities have paid and reached a reconciliation agreement with the criminals.
He stated, “To be able to enjoy some level of peace, people living in Moriki ward were asked to pay the sum of N20 million.”
Two members of the Dauran community in the council have recently been kidnapped, and a ransom was paid to get them back. In Kanwa, more than 40 people, most of whom are women, were taken from house to house by terrorists.
The thieves have not yet demanded a ransom in exchange for the release of the kidnapped individuals.
The scoundrels had before forced a pay toll of N20 million on Kanwa people group. The levy is intended to act as a peace agreement between the community and the terrorists.
Even though they have paid the levy, the residents are currently living in tension because they fear that the recent wave of mass kidnappings will result in another levy.
Each household will contribute N6,500. “The Moriki community members are currently deciding how to contribute the compensation fee.The fee is for them to be able to access their farmland and live peacefully without fear of attack, “Buhari went on.
The compensation fee has already been paid by many communities.During the rainy season, when farmers needed to work on their farmlands, the majority of them gave.
“During the rainy season, people were permitted to farm in Moriki; however, when it came time to harvest our farm produce, they began to threaten our peace.
“Every family in Moriki has been approached to contribute N6,500 to make up the N20 million duty.
Although the community is still searching for the money, I understand that the payment deadline was last Saturday.
Gidan Shaho, Kadamutsa, and Dada are a few of the communities that have been asked to contribute to the compensation levy.
Ten communities were asked to pay levies of varying amounts, according to Zurmi resident Suleiman Mahmud, who also discussed the development.
He also said that some people have paid, but others haven’t raised the money yet.
They were required to pay N20 million in the Moriki community. The residents have made the decision to pay, but I’m not sure if it has reached the terrorists.
They typically communicate their demands to members of the communities they target. They either illuminate a liberated hostage or convey the message at whatever point they assault networks.
“They have not attacked the people of Moriki since they agreed to pay a reconciliation levy in July, and the people have been going about their business.”
One person was killed and two people were kidnapped from their farmlands last week in the Dauran area.
Kwagwami, Boko, Jaya, Dunfawa, and Gidan Goga are among the communities that have paid the compensation levy and agreed to a peace deal.
Zurmi LGA has about ten communities. They imposed N20 million, like Kanwa;N17 million for Jaya;Kwagwami, N6.5 million, and Moriki, N20 million.
In addition, Mahmud stated that some Kwagwami residents had been kidnapped recently and that the abductees are still in captivity, with the exception of the district head, who has been released.
