BREAKING:Tinubu is dead, Sanwo-Olu reacts

Alhaji Rafiu Tinubu, a former head of service in Lagos State, has passed away.

After a brief illness, Tinubu passed away on Wednesday in Abuja at the age of 75.

The death of Tinubu was characterized as a significant loss for the state and the nation as a whole in a statement that was signed by Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu expressed sympathy for Tinubu’s loved ones, friends, and family, saying: The passing of Alhaji Tinubu occurred at a time when the nation and Lagos in particular were in greatest need of his wealth of experience.

“As an experienced administrator by excellence, we will certainly miss the late Alhaji Tinubu’s counsel on important state civil service matters,”

The former top civil servant, who, according to the Governor, served the state meritoriously for 26 years prior to rising to become the Head of Service, would always be remembered for his “laudable achievements,” the Governor stated.

Sanwo-Olu stated, We cannot overlook Alhaji Rafiu Tinubu’s contributions to the professionalization of the Lagos civil service. Throughout his time here on Earth, he was known for his pursuit of excellence and his leadership qualities.

“We offer our condolences to the Tinubu family, particularly our National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his wife and children, and all of the elder statesman’s extended families.

“I pray that Almighty Allah will grant the family of the late Alhaji Rafiu Tinubu Al-Janah Firdaus the strength to bear the irreparable loss.”
