Buhari condemns attack in UAE, send condolences to families of deceased persons

President Muhammadu Buhari has described as worrisome suspected drone strikes in the United Arab Emirates.

The attack, which claimed three lives, allegedly resulted in explosions and a deadly fire outside the capital, Abu Dhabi.

The Nigerian government while reacting to the incident which happened on Monday, said such attacks targeting innocent people and civilian infrastructure, leading to the loss of lives were condemnable by all reasonable opinions around the globe and should be stopped.

“On behalf of the government and the people of Nigeria, we express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the people and the friendly state of the UAE,” said the President.

The President in a terse message by his media aide, Garba Shehu, also urged restraint to give dialogue and engagement a chance.

Recall that two Indians and a Pakistani national were believed to have been killed, while six others sustained various degrees of injuries.

The attack happened near the Abu Dhabi Airport and led to multiple explosions around the United Arab Emirates.
