Cameroonian military repel attempt to hijack oil vessel by suspected BnL allies

Cameroonian forces in Bakassi repelled an attempted hijacking of an oil vessel by militants in the Gulf of Guinea.

The militants suspected of having links with the Biafra Nations League (BnL), encountered resistance on Monday when they attempted to seize an oil vessel from Doula in the Idabato Sea.

A source who confirmed the Monday’s incident said it happened in the afternoon, barely a week after the BnL threatened to disrupt Nigerian and Cameroonian international trade at sea in the Gulf of Guinea.

“The militants are those loyal to the BnL in Bakassi, not Niger Delta militants,” the residential source said.
