CBN: Emefiele relying on voodoo economics, sack him – Buhari told

For relying on voodoo economics, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been asked to resign immediately by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In recent times, Emefiele has been linked to defrauding the country, diverting funds from the government, and sustaining unsound Forex management practices.

However, Emefiele must be removed from office, according to the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders in Nigeria (CACLN), a democracy group.

When the CACLN stormed the Presidential Villa to protest Emefiele’s continued service as CBN governor, they made the call.

There was a large attendance at the “Emefiele Must Go” protest.

Dauda Yakubu, the group’s convener, told journalists during the protest that Emefiele had desecrated the prestigious apex bank.

Yakubu lamented how Emefiele had turned the nation into a laughingstock among nations.

He emphasized that Emefiele was unfit to continue serving as governor of the CBN.

He said: ” Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has not only desecrated the revered apex bank in Nigeria but also turned the nation into a laughing stock among nations.

His love of voodoo economics is also well-known. The country’s economy has been harmed in unimaginable ways by policy lapses and fiscal policy inconsistencies.

“It remains a mystery how the Governor of a country’s sensitive CBN would engage in partisan politics by competing for the presidency and spending billions of naira from the Central Bank’s vaults in his political ambition,”

According to the group, Emefiele introduced the naira redesign to conceal some of the anomalies he had committed while in office.
