Court cases won’t stop handover to Tinubu, Shettima – FG

The Central Government, on Tuesday, provided the affirmation with that the progress of force from the President, Significant General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, would be peaceful and smooth.

This was in line with the government’s claim that the President and Vice President elect’s offices had been renovated to their final state.

Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Transition Committee, emphasized to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that litigation would not prevent the handover ceremony from taking place.

He said, “The panel has been dynamic and the repair of workplaces for the President and VP choose has been finished.

“The Defense House facility is ready. The President and Vice-President elect have also been visited by security personnel from the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services.

“Both the President-elect and Vice-President-elect have received protocol officers from the National Intelligence Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mustapha made the observation that the security subcommittee had been given the responsibility of making certain that no one would delay the handover.

He stated, “The process will not be impeded in any way by any litigation, whether it is resolved or not.” The President isn’t going through a day extra in office. It is the responsibility of the security committee to ensure that the transition process is not halted. People in Nigeria are extremely law-abiding.

“The process would continue unabated for anyone who has lost an election; there are provided avenues for those individuals to make whatever legal inquiry they want to make. We wouldn’t make another sacred emergency. The transfer will take place on May 29.

Mustapha also stated that the FG delegation would be joined by four members of the President-elect’s team at the World Bank’s spring meeting.

However, he disclosed that the president-elect has appointed Wale Edun and Kebbi State governor Atiku Bagudu to the transition committee.
