Do away with evil politicians with evil agenda, Bishop Kukah tells Nigerians

Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of the Sokoto Diocese, has pleaded with Nigerians to do everything in their power to resist “evil politicians with evil agendas” who do not wish the country well.

Kukah made the appeal on Sunday at the Society of African Mission’s Thanksgiving ceremony in Lagos to celebrate its 166th anniversary. He was concerned about the “polarization of the nation along primordial lines such as religion and ethnicity.”

He continued by describing the divisions as “clogs in the wheel of the nation’s quest for development and progress,” adding that they have remained so.

Bishop Kukah spoke on the topic “Conversation on the Role of Faith in Nation Building.” He said that Nigeria’s diversity is a good thing and that Nigerians should promote things that can fix social problems so they don’t pass them on to the next generation.
